Looking back on the birth of SEEDINO, I often feel that it did not come from a carefully planned business plan, but from an accident in life and a spiritual touch as a father.
When many people talk about successful brands, they always mention the rigorous market analysis, clear vision and precise positioning behind them. The creation paths of these brands seem to have been carefully calculated and prepared, like classic cases performed in business schools: perfect market research, accurate financial forecasts, great resource integration... so-called, step by step.
Hong Kong people have always valued shrewdness and efficiency. No one is willing to take risks without a sure-fire plan. Plans that don't make money will never be implemented; plans that can't win the Mark Six lottery will never be placed.
But, is life really like this?
And I firmly believe that the wonderful things in life often come from unpredictable accidents.
Especially in my many years of experience in business and investment, I have deeply realized that many decisions and turns are actually never completely under my control. Plans often fail to keep up with changes, and real growth often occurs in those unexpected and beautiful moments.
The story of SEEDINO is exactly the result of such an "unintentional intervention".
Little moments of my children’s growth with me
The story begins half a year ago.
During that time, I found that more and more parents were keen to share their parenting experiences on Xiaohongshu, covering everything from music, academics to sports. I also started trying to run a business Little Red Book records the growth of children. Among them, swimming has become a new area that my daughters and I have explored together.
To be honest, as a father who doesn’t know how to swim at all, I was initially filled with apprehension and anticipation. My two daughters never knew how to swim and experienced countless failures and struggles in the water. Whenever they splashed hard on the water, I was always with them on the shore, witnessing their setbacks and growth.
However, it was these little bits of persistence that enabled the eldest daughter to finally win her first medal in her life in an inter-primary school swimming competition.
This process is indeed extremely difficult, but it is also extremely worth it.
Along the way, we have received help and encouragement from countless people. Whether it is coaches, parents and friends online or offline, or schools and swimming clubs that support them, we are grateful for every help. It is with this kind of support that we have come to where we are today.
This experience taught me one thing: As a parent, I cannot pave a smooth road to success for my children. What I can do is teach them how to persevere in the face of difficulties and how to find courage in setbacks. Set off again.
Family responsibilities and chasing dreams
This reminds me of the story of the movie "Interstellar," a science fiction movie about the deep connection between a father and his daughter, and how dreams and love intertwine.
Cooper, the father in the story, faces a difficult life choice: should he stay at home and become a competent father, or should he follow his lifelong dream and explore the vast universe?
Before his daughter Murphy was born, Cooper had always wanted to be a space explorer. His heart is always wandering between "family responsibilities" and "chasing dreams", and his inner conflict runs through the core of the entire story.
There are two scenes in the movie that are impressive. When Cooper decided to leave his daughter, he resolutely walked to the car and headed for the unknown journey without looking back; and when the rocket took off, the countdown sounded in the sky, symbolizing his " "The meaning of existence" and the conflict of choices. This conflict does not only belong to Cooper, but is a test that each of us will face sooner or later in life. How to choose between dreams and companionship?
What is a truly meaningful life?
The most touching scene in the movie was when Cooper watched video messages from Earth in the spacecraft.
He watched his daughter Murphy grow from a little girl to middle age, but he was still stuck in his own timeline due to the distortion of time and space and the influence of gravity. At this time, his daughter Murphy was already older than Cooper himself, and as a father, he missed the most important days in his daughter's life, the times when she needed her father's company. At that moment, Cooper could only cry heartbrokenly.
It wasn't until that moment that Cooper himself truly understood the price he had paid to pursue his dream. What he missed was not only his daughter's growth, but also sharing every moment of his life with her.
This scene made me think deeply.
For adults, what we always think of as success, such as realizing dreams and reaching a certain peak in life, are these really successes?
The scale of time is ruthless and cruel. In the endless river of time, how important are those "achievements" we think are really important?
Or do we need to look back and examine whether the most precious thing in life is actually companionship and love?
The movie tells us a cruel fact: time cannot be turned back!
In the blink of an eye, 50 years may pass by quietly. When we finally stop, will we find that there is only blank space and regret between us and our children? What have the dreams we chase brought us and our families? At least this makes me understand that accompanying children's growth may be the most irreplaceable value in life.
This is the biggest regret in the movie, and it is also the love and companionship that each of us should cherish.
There is nothing more meaningful than growing up with your children. Simply requiring children to make progress versus choosing to make progress together with their children reflects completely different values and educational attitudes.
The birth of an inspiration
One day, my youngest daughter asked me innocently, holding some of the little dolls she had drawn, "Dad, can you print these patterns on my swimsuit?"
This question made me think deeply for a moment.
why not?
Why not design an exclusive training swimsuit for them, so that they can wear their own creations during training and feel more sense of accomplishment and pride?
This idea excites me beyond measure!
I started designing exclusive training swimsuits for my daughters, not only to satisfy their wishes, but also to make them feel confident in the process, which comes from the power of their own creation and the spirit of perseverance and fighting.
This training swimsuit is more than just clothes, it symbolizes the connection between us, like a bridge and a symbol, embodying the hard work and persistence we have experienced together.
More importantly, it made me rethink the true connotation of education: the essence of education is not only the transfer of knowledge, but also the power of role models, silent companionship and support.
persistent belief
I once wrote an article in Xiaohongshu about the decades-long story of Hong Kong swimmer He Shibei. She started swimming at the age of 10, and after 20 years of unremitting efforts, she reached the stage of world championship.
Look! Geniuses are hard to come by. Even a swimming genius like He Shibei would take 20 years to become a world-class champion. Facts have also proved that swimming is a sport that requires long-term persistence.
Those who swim must be willing to swim, and those who are willing to swim must swim there.

I firmly believe that the sport of swimming brings children not only physical exercise, but also a test of their will and perseverance.
My two daughters are not geniuses, they are even more ordinary than ordinary people. They did not become outstanding overnight. Every bit of progress they made was achieved through hard work and persistence.
From being ranked tenth in the initial competition to finally standing on the podium, this process is extremely real and extremely precious.
Sometimes they feel tired during training and even want to give up. But every time, I always tell them: "Hold on and try harder." I believe that many successes in life are accumulated by "holding on" again and again.
Watching them struggle hard, I couldn't help but think: "Should we challenge ourselves with them and grow with each other?"
Perhaps, I should be their role model and tell them what true persistence means through my actions. Since then, my daughters have continued to train in the water, while I have been involved in creation on the side, learning from scratch together, and designing various unique training swimsuits for them, so that they can wear their own creations in the water.
Growth and creation, love and persistence
In this way, SEEDINO was born. The name of this brand (pronounced: seed-in-no) is taken from the combination of "Seed" (seed) and "Innovation" (innovation), which symbolizes growth and creation. This is not a simple product, it carries my love and expectations for my children, and also embodies the story of every family growing together.
Every SEEDINO product has a profound meaning of education - a carrier that symbolizes persistence and hard work.
Just like another father of a member of the school swimming team shared with me, SEEDINO gave him the feeling of "Seed" and "Dino", and he felt that it symbolized "hoping for his son to succeed." Therefore, in everyone's concept, SEEDINO has different positive interpretations, and I am happy with this feeling.
I hope that every child who wears SEEDINO products will convey this belief: "As long as you persist, your dreams are not out of reach."
As parents, we cannot control every step of our children's growth, but we can accompany them, encourage them, and be that eternal light when they need it.
SEEDINO is not just an ordinary brand or product, it is the continuation of my love for my daughters and the testimony of every drop of sweat and every effort in their growth.
Accidents in life often become inevitable for growth. Thank you to every parent and child who has accompanied us, thank you for your support and trust.
Today’s sharing is here. If you have any questions/comments, please feel free to email me.
Please don’t pity your love and care for your children~
Thank you~
I love you~
