Our SEEDINO training swimsuit products are all made of official LYCRA® fabric (280 GSM). During the research and development process, we found that this material has achieved the best balance in wear resistance, protection and elasticity, which is perfectly suitable for swimming training needs.

What is LYCRA®?

LYCRA®, professionally known as Spandex (Spandex/Elastane), is a high-performance elastic fiber invented by DuPont in the United States in 1958. Its outstanding physical properties include:

• Super elasticity : It can stretch up to 600% and can quickly return to its original shape, far exceeding rubber materials.
• High breathability and wear resistance : provides a comfortable wearing experience, suitable for long-term training.

LYCRA® has a density of 1.0 to 1.3 g/cm3. Although its resilience is slightly lower than that of rubber, its durability and elastic range (approximately 5-12 cN/tex) make it an ideal choice.

All of our training swimsuit products are made directly from LYCRA® official fabric (280 GSM), because we found in our R&D products that 280 GSM is the best balance of wear resistance, protection and elasticity for swimsuits during training.

Characteristics of LYCRA® fiber

1. Rehabilitation quality and durability

LYCRA® fiber is known for its superior healing qualities and durability, making it one of the most recognized nylon fiber brands in the world. This fiber is commonly used by premium sports brands for its long-lasting shape retention and comfortable fit.

2. Hygroscopicity

Lycra fiber has extremely low moisture absorption, only 1% of its own weight. This keeps the wearer dry during exercise.

3. Anti-pilling and anti-static

Spandex does not easily pill and does not accumulate static electricity, ensuring that clothes are clean and comfortable during use.

4. Chlorine resistance

Free chlorine in swimming pool water can affect the elasticity and stretch of spandex. To improve its resistance to chlorine, spandex fibers can be enhanced with microparticles of zinc oxide, magnesium oxide, magnesium hydroxide, or phenolic compounds, making them ideal for swimwear.

5. Widely used

Due to its excellent elasticity, strength, wrinkle resistance and quick-drying properties, spandex is widely used in various clothing, especially underwear and professional training swimsuits.
